About Gradiance Design
Gradiance Design is a one-woman, home-based micro-business located in Tucson, Arizona. I, Diane, began working in this field professionally in 2005. Given the nature of the web, I do mostly commercial projects. However, I have long desired to reach out to those who share my interest in creating websites that are meaningful or informative or do some good in this world -- sites that touch the mind and spirit more than they touch the wallet.
The name Gradiance is a play on the word "gradients." In graphics work, a gradient
is a subtle, progressive blending of one area of color into another. At the left is an example of a gradient ranging from purple to gold.
Along with the graphics concept, the name Gradiance is simultaneously a composite of the words Grace, Radiance, Dance, and my name, Diane. I think it conveys a sense of the magical flow of pure energy that is the Internet — energy embodied in bits and bytes of light and sound and thought and emotion. (An idealized view, I suppose, but that's how it could or should be.) I enjoy my participation in that flow, and enjoy enabling others to join the dance, which is the ultimate mission of Gradiance Design.
