Gradiance Design is a one-woman, home-based micro-business located in Tucson, Arizona. I, Diane, have been an independent contractor (subcontractor) in the field of web development since 2005. I continue to work as a subcontractor doing mostly commercial projects, but have long desired to reach out on my own to those who share my interest in creating websites that are meaningful or informative -- sites that touch the mind and spirit more than they touch the pocketbook.

The name Gradiance is a play on the word "gradients." In graphics work, a gradient is a subtle, progressive blending of one area of color into another. At the left is an example of a gradient comprised of purple and gold.

Along with the graphics concept, the name Gradiance is simultaneously a composite of the words Grace, Radiance, Dance, and my name, Diane. I think it conveys a sense of the magical flow of pure energy that is the Internet — energy embodied in bits and bytes of light and sound and thought and emotion. (An idealized view, I suppose, but that's how it could or should be.) I enjoy my participation in that flow, and enjoy enabling others to join the dance, which is the ultimate mission of Gradiance Design.
